Yes. We build solid insulated switchgear with epoxy-encapsulated conductors and air insulated alternatives. Both meet IEC 62271. Solid insulated is compact like GIS with no gas. Air insulated is the traditional option. The choice depends on your site's environmental regulations and space.

Yes. SF6 has high global warming potential, so we manage it rigorously. Sealed tanks leak under 0.1 percent per year. Gas handling uses recovery equipment, never venting. End-of-life SF6 is recovered and recycled. We provide gas handling documentation and leak rate data. For sites with SF6 restrictions, we offer air insulated and solid insulated alternatives.
Effectively, yes. The SF6 tank is sealed and leak-tested to under 0.1 percent per year. No dust ingress. No oxidation. No atmospheric contamination. Routine maintenance is a visual inspection and a gas pressure check. The tank is not opened for 20-plus years under normal operation.

Gas insulated switchgear uses SF6 inside a sealed tank as the insulating medium. SF6 has three times the dielectric strength of air, so clearances shrink and the whole assembly fits in half the footprint. Air insulated switchgear uses atmospheric air and needs more space. A GIS switchgear panel is 350mm to 600mm wide. An AIS panel needs about 800mm.
