SUPPORT
  • Q What certifications do your metal clad switchgear manufacturers hold?

    A

IEC 62271 type-test certificates from an accredited lab. CE marking. ISO 9001 quality management. We configure for regional compliance — SASO for Saudi Arabia, SNI for Indonesia, GOST for Russia. Type-test reports, routine test reports, and material traceability documents are included with every panel. Third-party witness testing at KEMA or ASTA available on request.

  • Q What tests do you perform on each industrial switchgear panel before shipping?

    A

Routine tests per IEC 62271: circuit breaker timing, contact resistance, insulation resistance, power frequency withstand, and operation sequence verification. We also test protection relay settings, CT and VT polarity, and interlocking function. The test report ships with the panel. Factory acceptance testing with the customer present is available on request.

  • Q How does the withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker work in your mv switchgear?

    A

The VCB sits on a handcart with three defined positions: service, test, and isolated. Spring-operated mechanism charges in under 15 seconds. Vacuum interrupter bottles are sealed for life. Rated for 10,000 mechanical operations. Clear mechanical position indicator visible through the front window. Metal shutters automatically cover the busbar contacts when the handcart is withdrawn.

  • Q Do you manufacture air insulated switchgear or gas insulated switchgear?

    A

Both. KYN28 and KYN61 are air insulated metal-clad panels. They use atmospheric air as the insulating medium. We also supply SF6 gas insulated ring main units for compact urban substations. Air insulated switchgear costs less and needs more floor space. Gas insulated switchgear saves space at higher cost. The choice depends on your site.

  • Q What voltage ratings does your medium voltage switchgear cover?

    A

KYN28-12 for 3.6kV to 12kV systems. KYN28-24 for 24kV. KYN61-40.5 for 35kV to 40.5kV. Vacuum circuit breaker on withdrawable handcart. Busbar rated 630A to 3150A. Short-circuit withstand tested per IEC 62271 up to 31.5kA.

  • Q What is the difference between metal clad switchgear and metal enclosed switchgear?

    A

A metal clad switchgear panel has grounded metal barriers between all compartments — busbar, breaker, cable, and LV controls. A metal enclosed switchgear uses insulating partitions that may not be grounded metal. Under internal arc conditions, grounded metal barriers contain the arc. Metal clad vs metal enclosed is a safety decision, not a naming preference. IEC 62271 defines the difference.

  • Q Why do 33kV panels cost more than 12kV panels?

    A

The 40.5kV equipment class needs larger clearances, longer creepage distances, and heavier busbar to carry 25kA to 40kA short-circuit. Withdrawable construction in metal clad switchgear adds precision parts and guide rails. That is why a 33kv switchgear panel typically costs 30-50 percent more than a 12kV equivalent.

  • Q What is ring main unit in a 33kV network?

    A

What is ring main unit? A ring main unit is a compact two- or three-way switchgear cabinet that taps a transformer off a live ring using load-break switches plus a fused or VCB way. At 33kV, RMUs sit pad-mounted outdoors at urban loops, wind farm collector stations, and solar string connection points.
